34 weeks and soon to be 35 this weekend, time is flying by!
I am BEYOND excited for this blog post! We have been working towards on all the final touches for the nursery and now we are ready to go!
First, here are my 34 week bump pictures!
Now for the part I am most excited to share...Emmeline's nursery!
This labor of love has been the most exciting decorating project I have ever worked on! There is something about her nursery that just relaxes you the moment you walk in. Not to be cheesy but I think the word I am looking for is enchanting...maybe its just me (of course I love it) but maybe you will agree!
From the get go I knew I wanted a vintage inspired nursery and I wanted it to be very feminine. After all like mother like daughter I hope Emmy Grace will love all things girly!
Before I start taking all the credit for this nursery I have to say that Brett has really been the one who has taken the lead! I may have picked fabrics and ordered bedding online but Brett is the one who painted the nursery multiple times, installed chandeliers, built cribs, re-wired lighting, the nursery is perfect because Brett wanted it that way for Emmy Grace.
Ok....so now that I have gotten all sentimental lets get down to the details!
Here is the overall view when you walk in the room!
The paint color is Sherwin Williams, Knitting Needles....not the first color we tried but it ended up being the perfect fit!
Emmeline's beautiful crib!
We wanted something in a light vintage pink and this was the perfect fit. The fabric is linen with a frayed ruffle edge.
These beautiful sheets are really what solidified the room being pink and grey, I loved the gorgeous trellis pattern!
The crib might be my absolute favorite piece of furniture. Instead of going for a traditional wood crib we loved this gorgeous iron crib. We found this crib at the Plaid Rabbit in Green Hills,
Bratt Decor has the most beautiful cribs!
After finding the perfect crib we decided that mixing and matching different antique pieces of furniture would be a better fit for the style of the nursery than going with all one set of furniture.
We looked and looked for bookshelves and I actually found this piece at an antique store in Franklin, Kentucky. It is a vintage china hutch and we had it refinished in an antique white.
The side table was another great find! I came across the table at another antique store in Kentucky and we had it refinished to match the other pieces!
The pictures and mirror above the changing table are some of my favorites! Below is a closer look.
The vintage iron frames are from Etsy- A great seller called
Rusticart.
The mirror is from Hobby Lobby!
A shop on etsy called
Printable Wisdom does great custom bible verses in any style or color you like!
For you formed my inward parts, you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I
praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works,
my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being
made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my
unformed substance, in your book were written every one of them, the days that
were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.
Psalm
139:13-16
Another verse from Printable wisdom!
She is clothed in strength and dignity and laughs without fear of the
future.
Proverbs 31:25
Can't wait until we can fill these frames with pictures of Emmeline!!
Now to my favorite piece of decor in the room! My amazing mother in law Tonya made this herself!
I absolutely love the monogram!
A keepsake box was another must for the nursery. This is actually a
wedding keepsake box from Pottery Barn but I think it works just as well for baby! We will have many more keepsakes to add but right now it has Brett's bible from his baptism, my mom's hospital bracelet from when she was born, and a beautiful corsage I wore at our Lawrenceburg baby shower.
Just a look at some of the beautiful things our family and friends have given us that decorate her bookshelves!
This chandelier was the perfect finishing touch for the nursery! After buying our first chandelier and it being WAY to big for the room we went with
Pottery Barn's Mia Chandelier.
One of the very best gifts we have been given is Emmy Grace's incredible closet! Brett's dad Greg built and installed the closet himself. It is quite a bit more packed now than this picture shows and there is still room for more!
Couldn't resist including this picture! Maggie Mae hanging in the nursery!
Last picture I promise! I had to post because those of you who know me well know who this picture is of! This is Sarah Bear my stuffed animal I have had since I was born. She recently has gotten a make over courtesy of my mom so she is good as new! I hope Emmy Grace loves her as much as I do!
Well there we have it! Emmeline's nursery is all ready to go. Now we just wait for her arrival! :)
