Steak with Pear and Goat Cheese Salad

Steak with Pear and Goat Cheese Salad
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This meal is quick and delicious! It was a lot of food, you could honestly eat the salad alone but the steak was the perfect compliment!

Step 1: Start with your piece of meat (filet or ribeye) I think filet is best because it is more lean but this week was a ribeye week :)

To make the marinade:
Whisk together in a bowl....
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon of honey
1 teaspoon of minced garlic

Pour the marinade over your steaks and let them sit for 30 min on each side

Step 2: Make your dressing! One of the best wedding gifts I got was the salad dressing emulsifier from Williams Sonoma (thanks to Kalee!) And it has made making homemade dressing 10x easier! But a good old fashioned whisk works great too!

To make the dressing combine...
1/4 cup of balsamic vinegar
1/2 olive oil
1 tsp of sugar (you can omit this to make it lower calorie)

Step 3: Toast your pecans! You could also do walnuts or almonds in this salad but I love pecans!
Just heat your over to 400 degrees and toast them for 15 minutes!

Step 4: Slice 1 bartlett pear and cut your goat cheese into small chunks (it is a very creamy cheese so sometimes this is challenging but well worth it)

Sometimes the thinner the better!!

Step 5: Now tear your lettuce (I prefer using whole romaine hearts) then add your pears, goat cheese, pecans, and your balsamic dressing!

Step 6: Grill your steak for 10-15 minutes depending on the grill temperature, make sure now to over do it!

VOILA! Finished product! This has been my favorite recipe so far!
